How is your family covered? Less than you think.
Back
Did you know that it is not enough to be married to be entitled to a widow's pension?
There is often a belief that being married automatically entitles a spouse to a widow's pension in the event of death. But this is not the case.
In fact, in the first pillar (OASI), but also in the second pillar ( BVG), the following conditions must be fulfilled for your spouse to be entitled to a widow's pension
1) Have 1 or more children, or
2) Be at least 45 years old and have been married for at least 5 years.
This is why it is important to understand your situation well through a pension analysis and, if necessary, to put in place the right remedies through, for example, a 3rd pillar made for you.
Did you know that children, and young people in education, are not well covered in case of disability?
A problem to be solved
Not working, children and students do not enjoy second pillar cover. That is why, in case of disability, they are considered 'early disabled' and will only get a benefit from the 1st pillar, amounting to 133% of the full DI minimum pension.
Early disability is a problem that we do not think about (or do not want to think about), but it has very important repercussions on our children's lives and on the family economy in general.
There are, however, 3rd pillar covers that solve this problem at a very low cost, BUT YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT IN ADVANCE.
